Unlock Your Academic Potential With ChatGPT’s AI-Powered Chegg Study Buddy

CheggMate, a study aide designed specifically for students, has been developed by Chegg by integrating its quiz answer corpus with GPT-4, an AI model applied by the chatbot. According to Dan Rosensweig, CEO of Chegg, this is how it was created.

Chegg Inc. is now providing more students access to the artificial intelligence powering ChatGPT, the chatbot known for drafting homework which has been prohibited in certain educational institutions.

CheggMate, a study assistant designed for learners, has been created by the US educational software producer using its collection of quiz answers combined with the artificial intelligence system GPT-4, as reported by CEO Dan Rosensweig to Reuters last week.

Dan Rosensweig says:

“It’s a tutor in your pocket,”

Rosensweig stated that the software could customize practice tests and provide individualized student guidance by analyzing data about their courses and missed exam questions, which generalist programs like ChatGPT cannot do. Chegg announced that the program would be available at no cost starting next month.

Last year’s launch of ChatGPT enabled pupils to submit assignments composed by the chatbot, allowing some of them to bypass their schoolwork and forcing instructors to assess their authenticity. The release will likely extend what students can do with AI as teachers struggle with its consequences.

The Los Angeles Unified School District has temporarily disabled ChatGPT on its devices and networks while they investigate further, Reuters reports. On the contrary, some, like France’s Sciences Po, have permanently prohibited it due to worries that it misappropriates sources. Nevertheless, certain educators have suggested using ChatGPT to analyze if it is made clear that the bot is being utilized.

Rosensweig commented that Chegg concentrates on mathematics and the sciences, in contrast to essay writing which has posed an issue for schools. Additionally, it allows educators to limit the overview of solutions to inquiries on current examinations.

Rosensweig noted that Chegg had ensured exactness by organizing and verifying its responses. Precision is still an issue for AI models anticipating what to state next without understanding facts.

He stated that Chegg already uses a blend of humans and technology to aid its content. He also added that the introduction of CheggMate will likely reduce expenses related to content production, ultimately resulting in increased profits.

In recent months, analysts have been dubious about Chegg’s prospects of increasing its 8 million subscriber base due to students flocking to the OpenAI-developed ChatGPT software, which is generally free. Consequently, Chegg’s stock dropped by 28% in 2020, and its market capitalization is now estimated at around $2.3 billion.

In a Monday press release, Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, expressed enthusiasm for partnering with Chegg.

Sam Altman says:

“Improve the way people around the world learn.”

Rosensweig asserted that Chegg’s information demonstrated its importance.

Rosensweig continues to say:

“That’s why they’re working with us,”

As technology advances, educators must embrace new tools and techniques that can help improve student outcomes. ChatGPT’s AI-powered Chegg study buddy is just one example of how technology can be harnessed to provide students with personalized learning experiences tailored to their needs. With the continued development of AI, we will likely see many more innovative tools and applications that will transform the way we teach and learn.
