Salesforce Joins Microsoft In Launching AI-Driven Solutions For Salespeople With Help From Openai

On Tuesday, Salesforce revealed its newest offering, Einstein GPT. This software is designed to assist salespeople, customer service representatives, and marketers in their daily tasks by utilizing artificial intelligence technology from OpenAI. Since the Microsoft-funded startup made ChatGPT available to everyone in November, it has caused a stir in the tech world.

Competition among top tech firms is increasing to benefit from the growing interest in AI that creates text or other data by studying online sources. While these models can be useful, they can also produce inaccurate information, meaning companies selling to large organizations and governments must be cautious.

Microsoft is taking steps to reduce the spread of false information while introducing AI features to its Dynamics 365 software, similar to Salesforce. On Monday, users were allowed to join a waiting list for a customer service feature that drafts emails automatically, which was previously announced last month. In addition, OpenAI’s chatbot will be integrated into Microsoft’s Bing search engine.

Salesforce’s Service Cloud is introducing a chat box with an AI-powered technology that will generate responses to questions based on the data already stored in Salesforce. Agents can then edit these suggestions or send them as they are.

The executives of Salesforce, urged by activist investors to enhance its profitability, still need to settle on the cost or schedule for the new features. They must first observe how organizations participating in Salesforce’s trial program fare.

Salesforce has taken precautions to ensure that Einstein GPT does not provide inaccurate information. They have included a human agent in the process and limited the data sources used to generate answers.

Microsoft’s Dynamics applications have incorporated an AI component known as Copilot, which can be used to generate marketing emails. Similarly, Salesforce has also unveiled a tool that serves the same purpose.
