ChatGPT is currently widely used in the AI Wars but has no monopoly. At MasterWP, we’ve discussed similar Microsoft, Google, and Character technologies. ChatGPT may be the cool kid, but other AI services provide tough competition.
Meet ColossalChat, a new challenger to ChatGPT and the first open-source opponent. This contender has examined the ethical implications of AI for us today and seeks to provide solutions to those implications.
What Sets ColossalChat Apart From Other Messaging Platforms?
ColossalChat has arrived just in time, providing an accessible and free option available immediately. Although the premier AI chatbot ChatGPT is widely used, it may sometimes reach capacity, creating a space that competitors like ColossalChat can fill with their arrival.
Using the same formatting, while no sign-up or personal information is needed to get started, it’s worth noting that there doesn’t seem to be an option to review conversations at a later time – at least not currently.
The newest chatbot from ColossalChat, ChatGPT, is powered by the same RHLF pipeline as OpenAI’s GPT-4 model. It can write code, answer questions smartly and engage in conversations with you – making it a revolutionary tool for communication.
The colossalChat refined its Large Language Model Meta AI (LLaMA) to create Coati in a way that resembles ChatGPT. According to Yang You, one of the developers, this “closes the gap” between the original technical route of ChatGPT.
ColossalChat and ChatGPT leverage reinforcement learning from human feedback (RHLF) – a technique similar to how animals are taught tricks. The AI is rewarded when it responds appropriately, thus enabling the network to learn human preferences.
How Will ColossalChat Change The Chatbot Landscape?
Having alternatives, especially when ChatGPT capacity is hit, is good; ColossalChat could be one such alternative – though it may not compete with Chatgpt regarding breadth, capabilities, or popularity.
It is yet to be determined if ColossalChat matches the latest release from ChatGPT, which used GPT-3.5 and only worked with text inputs.
The latest update from OpenAI now allows for multimodal input, where images can be uploaded to help the chatbot understand your query. This helps visually represent what you are attempting to communicate or ask.
I strongly believe that open-source AI is the primary solution for preventing Artificial Intelligence from having a biased output. Thus, I’m very glad to see open-source software such as ChatGPT emerging; promising evidence encourages other similar alternatives to be created.
The new AI in ColossalChat could create positive changes compared to larger competitors. I want to give this promising app more time before comparing it.
Its commitment to privacy and security and user-friendly interface make it an attractive option for those who value online privacy and want to take control of their data. With ColossalChat, users can enjoy a seamless and secure chatting experience without worrying about their conversations being monitored or their personal information being compromised. Overall, ColossalChat is a welcome addition to open-source technology and a promising solution to the ongoing issues surrounding online communication.
