Recently, Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba Group Holding, visited a school he founded in Hangzhou after returning to China following an extended trip to foreign countries.
Ma met with educators and students of Hangzhou Yungu School on Monday – a private school that offers educational services from kindergarten to high school, founded by the Alibaba founders in 2017.
Ma’s schedule was reportedly confirmed when the school published a post on their WeChat account, and sources familiar with it had previously detailed it.
Ma, in discussion with the school faculty, deliberated about how education will be impacted in the upcoming days, given the boom in AI technology.
Ma says:
“We must use AI to solve problems, not to be controlled by AI,”
Jack Ma’s discussion with Chinese schools provides a glimpse into the future of education in China and highlights the growing importance of AI in shaping that future.
As we continue to explore the potential of AI in education, it will be important to strike a balance between technological innovation and the timeless human values that underpin effective teaching and learning.
