OpenAI launched its new GPT-4 AI model on Tuesday. Before its release, they allowed an AI testing group to assess potential risks, such as “power-seeking behavior,” self-replication, and self-improvement, to ensure pre-release safety testing.
While analyzing the results of GPT-4 on autonomous replication tasks, the testing group deemed it “ineffective.” This raises important considerations regarding safety when incorporating AI into future systems.
